ABOUT ME

Hello there!

Peculiar Femme started as a passion project sometime mid-2019 as I began delving into the depths of the Cape Town artistic and literary scene. I realised how little coverage there was in this space and how many felt displaced in society due to the odd-nature of our chosen professions. I resolved to start a platform for those feeling particularly odd and embraced it full-heartedly. This is meant to be an open and welcoming space for all seeking to explore various facets of themselves without fear of judgement. I currently run all of Peculiar Femme on my own, from social media to the actual business side of it. I welcome new contributors and anyone looking to have their work published here.

Qualifications

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of the Western Cape. I have currently completed my BA Honours degree specialising in English Literature. I also have practical and formal training in Theatre and Film.

What I Do

I am currently a student of literature, researching in the Pan-

African field of Romance Literature. I have always been enticed by the beauty of literature, film, theatre, and many other forms of expression. The ‘seemingly’ dichotomous relationship between film and theatre as forms of media has interested me in bridging the perceived oppositions through a holistic approach to multimedia and its influence on literature within a South African context. When I'm not doing research work, I also do freelance work and look after my kittens and plants.
